I've considered blogging about Rodion Shchedrin's 24 preludes and fugues in the past but, obviously, to write about such a cycle is an undertaking.of no small size. There's just other stuff I want to do more than that.
For the times I remember reading people saying that the fugue or the sonata were somehow "obsolete" this seems to have only been true in post-World War II musicology of a strenuously academic sort.
