a not-so random thought as I'm working through Phil Ewell's book, does he know that Russian composers have published the first two cycles of 24 preludes and fugues for solo guitar in the 1990s and 2010s?

 He mentioned his work as a music theorist and scholar of Russian music so ... not that Ewell reads Wenatchee The Hatchet but if someone wanted to pass along that I think it could be fun if he checked out Nikita Koshkin's 24 Preludes and Fugues for solo guitar I'd appreciate it.  It might interest Ewell to know that the two big cycles of preludes and fugues for solo guitar that have been published (so far) have been by Igor Rekhin and Nikita Koshkin in the 1990s and 2010s respectively.

This nine-movement work clocks in at just shy of 21 minutes. It's worth checking out.  People who've read me since, oh, 2006, know that Ourkouzounov is one of my favorite contemporary guitarist composers.
