Part 2: The Devil
False religions, false teachers, false Jesuses, I've hit that repeatedly. I do believe there are religions that have great, supernatural spiritual experience. There is also the fact, though, that they are inspired by Satan and demons. There are also false Jesuses. [In] 2 Corinthians 11, Paul says, "Just as Eve was deceived, I'm afraid that you're being deceived." He goes all the way back to Genesis 3 and he says satanic deception is real. And he said, somehow, false apostles, false teachers had come in, inspired by Satan; that they're teaching false doctrine amd they're preaching a Jesus that is different from the Jesus of the Bible. Do you know that the Mormon Jesus is demonic, and the Jehovah's Witness Jesus is demonic, and the Islamic Jesus is demonic, and the new spirituality Jesus is demonic, and the Jesus of Oprah is demonic? The Jesus who doesn't send anyone to Hell is demonic. The Jesus who doesn't judge anyone for sin is demonic. The Jesus who says you can have sex with anybody you want is demonic. The Jesus who says you can be lesbian, bisexual, homosexual is demonic. It's demonic. It's false teachers encouraging false doctrine and using the name of Jesus and pouring into it someone who is totally different.
You gotta be careful that you don't just say the name of Jesus (you NEED to, it's the name above every name. At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ IS Lord to the glory of God the Father, Paul tells us in Phillipians, so the name of Jesus is very powerful and authoritative) but you got to define what Jesus you're talking about.
This hit me in a counseling session where there was a person who would go to a healer. They were sick, they would go to a healer.
Sometimes people get really sick they get desperate and they invite demons, thinking it's spiritual (which it is) but it's demonic. And I said, "Well, you know, how did this work?"
"Well, I go to this person, and Jesus comes and then he speaks and he heals people."
"Hmm. Really? Ask that Jesus, `who are you? Are you Jesus of Nazareht, born of the virgin Mary?'"
"No, I'm not that Jesus" is the answer that is given, "I'm another Jesus."
Hmm, you're a demon who took the name Jesus. Would make perfect sense, right?
If you want naive, gullible Christians who are sick, hurt and dying to just sort of open themselves up, just say "I'm Jesus." Okay, cool, come on in.
Satan himself masquerades, we are told in scripture, as what? An angel of light. Demons pretend to be angels and sometimes demons pretend to be Jesus. Be very careful. Be very careful. Do you understand who Jesus is?
