If you didn't order the physical two-disc set you really missed out because while the 2019 remastered version sounds pretty good a few of the preludes and fugues are missing in the digital only/streaming version. I've been meaning to blog about and through this cycle for years but IRL events of the last few years, of which covid 19 was actually not an important variable, stymied any number of my blogging ambitions.
Still, I'm glad Esteban has been posting videos with excerpts from this mighty worthy cycle. I still hope a publisher will champion Dzhaparidze's 24 Preludes and Fugues for solo guitar, just as I still hope the second half of Koshkin's cycle of preludes and fugues can get recorded. Meanwhile, although I've got no analysis to provide I can share a link so you can hear the G sharp minor fugue.
