I heard the chamber choir perform this live back in my college days in the early 1990s and it was a jaw-dropping performance, as was pretty much everything else they sang. I think this was the first work by Jonas Tamulionis I ever heard and the album is accessible on Spotify, Amazon and elsewhere as From East to West: Music from Ukraine to Uruguay.
One of my Croatian friends knew of the ensemble and helped make arrangements, if I recall correctly, for the ensemble to come perform at our college.
So my affection for Baltic and Balkan music goes back decades thanks to some formative friendships I made in my twenties. It took me a while to find out where this track might be on Youtube and streaming services because, despite the 2011 issue date, the recorded performances go back all the way to the 1990s if you got the cassette tapes.
