these look like fun ...

It doesn't get more niche than something like this ...

Foreign Soldiers In Judah’s Military: Biblical Attitudes in Light of Extra-biblical Evidence
Eric A. Barrios

No surprise that Jacob L Wright's work on war commemoration in Judahite memory gets reference in the bibliography.  Also no surprise that John Goldingay's work shows up.  Not sure if there's going to be a review of this one at Wenatchee The Hatchet but I can at least note the publication of the book.

Cursed Creation in the Book of Job and the Book of the Watchers
Andrei A. Orlov

I'm still very slowly working through other Orlov titles but this new release was one I couldn't resist grabbing.  I'm still going through Seow's Job 1-21 commentary.  This wouldn't even be Orlov's first book dealing with Job, as Supernal Serpent: Mysteries of Leviathan in Judaism and Christianity dealt just with the reception history of Leviathan in Jewish, Christian and Muslim theological reflections.  I lent that to a friend a while back but that's worth reading just for the first two chapters alone.

Anyway, I am overdue to write some book report posts and some other kinds of posts but there's stuff that happens IRL that just happens.
