One minute into this video posted at the above link Driscoll talks about "one guy" who did a series preaching on a huge bed.  Driscoll considered this creepy which is the pot calling the kettle black not just about sex ... but also in light of the above.  It's not hard to figure out it's Ed Young Jr. This "one guy" isn't just some nobody among megachurch pastors and Driscoll knows people will figure things out, doesn't he?

So Driscoll explained to Mars Hill back in November 2007 that Ed Young Jr. was one of the pastors he consulted about what it would be like to lead a church of thousands and tens of thousands and then in 2011 Ed Young Jr's preaching series on sex becomes a punchline for Driscoll to say some pastors overdo the sex thing?  You might think that after mentioning to Mars Hill that Ed Young Jr. was someone whose wisdom Driscoll sought the man could show a little more consideration for a fellow megachurch pastor.  Compared to someone like T. D. Jakes or Ed Young Jr. Driscoll has only just joined the megachurch club and barely qualifies compared to their numbers.  Didn't we learn in the wake of the Andrew situation there are 5,400 some members at Mars Hill?

Is there something to be learned here?  Well, maybe.  If Driscoll comes to you in 2007 to get advice on how to run his church into thousands and tens of thousands remember that it won't stop him from making you a punchline in 2011 for your problem of talking about sex too much.  Yes, the same Driscoll who gave the 2007 Scotland sermon you can't find any longer because it got pulled.  This isn't just a case of the pot calling the kettle black.  The pot called the kettle black, after the pot explained to his church years ago that he went to the kettle for advice on how to run his church if his church gets as big as the kettle's. That's a most peculiar expression of gratitude there. Couldn't Driscoll have just refrained from making Young Jr. the punchline out of consideration for the fact that Young Jr. gave the pastor with the pint-size megachurch any time of day at all?
