Jamie Munson has a book out about ... Authority

There was some mention of plans for a book mentioned when Munson resigned from being Lead Pastor.  This appears to be the book.

"This book will help you become an effective leader" eh? How about a book that helps leaders glorify God with their talents?

Words are important, and this focus on results is not biblical. If it was, I'd have to say based on teh data Jesus was a pretty poor leader based on what he'd accomplished and the state of his followers by the end of His life...

If Munson's willing to publish a book about authority then maybe he's ready to field questions on record about his role in the 2007 terminations and about why he chose Scott Thomas to head up the EIT. Or not.

Munson's advocacy for continued growth in a church "even when it's not a good idea" may indicate as much about the company he's kept about his own ideas, though. It was the dedication to a "too big to fail" approach to church growth that was one of many reasons I did not renew my membership in late 2007.

Munson was the one who was described as having kingly gifts, but discussing what Mars Hill teaching means by kingly, prophetic, and priestly gifts would take some time to explain. What Munson has presented on the topic had little to do with what we find described in Deuteronomy and a lot to do with personality test self-assessment fads is the short version of my conclusions about Mars Hill on "triperspectival leadership".

It will be interesting to see how well Authoritah sells.

It's recently come to my attention that Tim Gaydos is no longer listed as a pastor at MH Downtown. Back on 2/22/2013 he had an entry so this departure seems to be pretty recent. Wonder who the lead pastor of the Downtown campus will end up being.
