remembrance of things past

what's this? ...

Four years ago I had some questions about where Lief Moi ended up.  Moi was one of the co-founding elders of Mars Hill and was well-liked.  Was he at some point considered an overpaid, under-performing veteran? He wasn't even employed at Mars Hill by the time Driscoll shared his nine lessons in leadership from baseball.  Driscoll may have been speaking generally.

For those who happen to be curious about some information that has come to light about Moi in 2007 since Joyful Exiles went up ...

People who have read this blog since about 2008 may remember that wondering what happened to Moi was one of the things I spent quite a bit of time on.

It appears he was told he lacked the kingly gifts to manage the Ballard campus.  He also got a pay cut of nearly 40 percent.  These are things Moi shared in a letter that was published in a 142-page document that has found its way on to Joyful Exiles.

regular readers will have seen this already but in light of recent discussions of an old presentation ...
